Description
On the way from Colombo to the high plateau of Nuwara Eliya we pass the Valley of Pussellawa in which the Melfort Tea Estate is located. This tea garden has been growing and producing teas since 1914. In 2004, a very modern green tea production facility was introduced. In excellent climatic conditions and with the exclusive use of Chinese plants, exceptional green teas have been produced for almost a hundred years.
Our Melfort Spécial de Ceylan deserves the name “Ceylon tea” because its high quality; it impresses with a matte, olive, rough and open tea leaf, reminiscent of the traditional Chinese art of tea. The infusion is freshly fragrant, fruity and spicy. The golden cut receives us with a spicy bouquet, strong with a full body and a slight acidity. A tea, which will meet the expectations of any green tea lover thanks to its exceptional quality!
